dc.descriptionThe Wordsmith Awards highlight the most notable submitted writing from students in the First Year Writing/ Academic Writing Program. These essays are published annually by The University of Tampa's Saunders Writing Center. The staff of the Saunders Writing Center collects submissions during the fall and spring semesters from First Year Writing/ Academic Writing students. Saunders Writing Center tutors choose the published entries through a blind review. Using a rubric, tutors judge the essays on mechanics, style, and content. The winning submissions are reviewed and edited by the editors and the authors. Finally, these works are published and the authors are recognized at the University of Tampa's College of Arts and Letters Academic Awards Ceremony.en_US
