Abstract
Greetings Friends and hopefully soon-to-be Friends,
I wanted to take this moment reach out to thank all of you who have
continued to support the gallery, announce some exciting news, give you a
glimpse into our upcoming exhibition schedule for the 21/22 Season, recap
our unforgettable 20/21 and communicate all the ways you all can continue to
help the Gallery as we start a truly exciting new chapter!
First and foremost, all that we do together in the college and in the
gallery for the UT and Tampa communities happens because of support from
our friends on campus and beyond and for that we Thank you!
Across from the Bailey Art Studios we watched the new home of the
College of Arts and Letters “CAL” literally rise to new heights on the corner
of North Blvd and Spaulding Drive. The new Ferman Center for the Arts has
already fostered great changes across the College, including change us from
Gallery to Galleries!
After 40+ years, the Gallery has expanded into two additional spaces
in the new Ferman Center for the Arts, The Saunders Foundation Art Gallery
and the Ferman Student Study Gallery! Collectively, the Colleges of Arts and
Letters Galleries, will have the same great mission that started the Scarfone/
Hartley Gallery, but now will be able to provide even more opportunities to
see great contemporary art on campus!
This 21/22 season, the galleries will continue to be an important
contributor to the Tampa Bay arts scene with hosting the unique
performances, engaging artist and faculty lectures, and inspiring exhibits.
Through this newsletter, I hope to let you all know that we are here, we are
strong and we are excited to continue and expand our mission and connect
UT to Tampa through inspiring, engaging, and educational exhibitions and
programs!
Looking forward to seeing you on campus! Jocelyn P. Boigenzahn, MA
