These essays are published annually by The University of Tampa's Saunders Writing Center. The staff of the Saunders Writing Center collects submissions during the fall and spring semesters from First Year Writing students. The published entries are chosen by Saunders Writing Center tutors through a blind review. Using a rubric, tutors judge the essays on mechanics, style, and content. The winning submissions are reviewed and edited by the editors and the authors. Finally, these works are published and the authors are recognized at the University of Tampa's College of Arts and Letters Academic Awards Ceremony.AcknowledgementsFor their participation in the judging process, we would like to thank the following Saunders Writing Center tutors: Samantha Bryant, Kyle Cohenour, Shannon Kenny, Katie Kerins, Liz Schoepp, Briana Ebanks, K.C. Shaffer, Morgan Tanafon, and Sofia Mitchell. Our publication would not by possible without the support of the First Year Writing faculty, especially Professors Birnbaum, VanSpanckeren, and Jones, whose students were chosen for this year's awards. We also wish to thank all of the First Year Writing students who shared their writing with us.Finally, we would like to thank our advisor, Dr. Putnam, for his guidance and support.en-USUTThe University of TampaSaunders Writing CenterWordsmith Awards 2010Wordsmith 2010The 20th Annual Wordsmith AwardsTwentieth Annual Wordsmith AwardsArticle
