It’s the recognition, reconciliation, and recovery from trauma. Beginning with I. First Death, poems are concerned with childhood, childhood sexual trauma, incest, and rape. II. New Ways to Die comprises of poems concerned with marriage, traditions, and breaking free from them, or dying to them. III.
