These essays are published annually by The University of Tampa's Saunders Writing Center. The staff of the Saunders Writing Center collects submissions during the fall and spring semesters from First Year Writing students. Saunders Writing Center tutors choose the published entries through a blind review. Using a rubric, tutors judge the essays on mechanics, style, and content. The winning submissions are reviewed and edited by the editor and the authors. Finally, these works are published and the authors are recognized at the University of Tampa's College of Arts and Letters Academic Awards Ceremony.AcknowlegementsFor their participation in the judging process, we would like to thank the following Saunders Writing Center tutors: Brianna Ebanks, K.C. Shaffer, Dan Leyden, David Pichotta, Amanda Sieradski, Rachel Doss, Jessie Lehrbaum and Abigail Carpenter. Our publication would not be possible without the support of the First Year Writing faculty, especially Professors Tilley, Anderson, Clanton, and VanSpanckeren, whose students were chosen for this year's awards. We also wish to thank the First Year Writing students who shared their writing with us.Finally, we would like to thank our advisor, Dr. Putnam, for his guidance and support.en-USThe University of TampaUTSaunders Writing CenterWordsmith Awards 2012Wordsmith 2012The 22nd Annual Wordsmith AwardsTwenty Second Annual Wordsmith AwardsArticle
