The staff of the Saunders Writing Center solicits work for the Wordsmith Awards from students in all First-year Writing classes and selects the best essays for publication.
For their participation in the judging process, we would like to thank staff members Cathy Kaufmann, Maria Kinch, Michelle Pelaez, and Patty Smith. Our adviser, Dr. Lisa Birnbaum, deserves special recognition for all her editing and guidance. Special thanks also go to Dr. Brian Garman for his computer expertise. Our publication would not be possible without the support of the First-year Writing faculty and all the students who shared their work with us.
